He was living in Ottawa ON at the time of his recruitment into the navy. He served as the President - Institute of Public Administration of Canada and President - Public Policy & Management Inc. and Chairperson - Canadian Ski Museum & Ski Hall of Fame. |

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1959. He served in HMCS Cataraqui for UNTD 1959-1962. In 1960 he served in HMCS La Hulloise. In 1961 he served in HMCS Inch Arran. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) 1962. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) 1963. In 1963-1964 he served in HMCS Swansea. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1964). In 1964 he served in HMCS Cataraqui on the Retired List. (He was released to the retired list 01/01/1965).
