Anecdotes |
---|
On February 28, 1982 this troller, owned by Clarence Cootes, Kildonan BC, sank for unknown reasons with the loss of her crew. Al Jack (Email to Nauticapedia 06/03/2019) stated that "the Ramsey Isle went down on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Clarence Cootes and his crew: Wilfred (Shorty) Dennis Sr, Phillip Johnson, and Patrick Peters all perished. They were running up to to the Nootka area from Ucluelet for herring fishing when they encountered a storm." THe decomposed bodies of her crew, who had to abandon ship without survival suits, were found drifting in the ship's dinghy a month and a half later. |
