Greg Kenmuir (British columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 29/03/2022) stated "Sidney'MP 53, was a familiar sight in the late 60's early 70's. This vessel was a handsome boat built at Benson Bros in Coal Harbour, Vancouver and stationed at Ganges Harbour on Saltspring Island. Showing a made for business flair when underway. In the summer 3 or 4 constables would pull in here, and in the earlier years we were the only ones on this part of the island a lot of the time. The constables would come up the beach and check in with my dad about the local goings on while disrobed hats and ties sat on benches with everyone enjoying a nice cold Uncle Bens or Lucky Lager !" Kevin McNeill (Email to Nauticapedia 05/09/2023) stated "Just a quick note, Sidney was not an HMCS, this vessel was never commissioned, strictly speaking this vessel was a PBL. I drove her in the summer of 1990 so you could add me to the masters list Kevin McNeill LCDR." |
