Anecdotes
On April 28, 1949 this tug struck a rock and sank at Point Upwood (30 miles north of Vancouver in Georgia Strait). The crew was rescued by the tug Macgregor which also picked up her tow of two barges. The top of the wheelhouse was visible at low tide and this vessel was salvaged. On January 6, 1958 this British freighter was in collision with the Strath, under command of Captain Jack Hamilton, which sank, two miles from the North Arm Jetty in Georgia Strait BC. The British freighter picked up the 7-man crew of the tug from a lifeboat a few minutes later. They were then transferred to the tug Iron Belle to a rendezvous with the tug Green Point off Jericho Beach where Fred Jancowski (Engineer), who was injured was taken to hospital.
