| Allen McLaren (Email to Nauticapedia 13/03/2021) stated "this vessel was built, entirely in BC and partially with BC government funding, to sail through the Northwest Passage from Sidney BC to Halifax and then to go on as a 'travelling trade show' demonstrating the capabilities of BC's marine industries. This vessel was named for the proposed arctic voyage and the dogwood emblem of her planned BC government sponsorship. Although getting as far as the Aleutian Is, the trip was curtailed and this vesselreturned to Sidney in 1974. This vessel was a comfortable, easily handled yacht designed, though never tested, to work in icy conditions." |
