Anecdotes
In 1940-1942 under Henry Larsen made the first West to East Transit of the Northwest Passage (Vessel Circumnavigated North America.) In 1944 under Henry Larsen Canada made an East to West Transit of the Northwest Passage. Currently preserved as National Historic Site this vessel was owned by The City of Vancouver, BC. Designated as a National Historic Park by National Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada. Currently a museum ship on display at the Vancouver Maritime Museum, Vancouver BC. (Vessel Crew 1928 (Horrall, S.W. (1973)) - Constable H.A. Larsen (Master); Constable M.J. Olsen (Mate); Constable J. Foster (Engineer); Constable R.W. Kells (Second Engineer); Constable T.G. Parsloe (Deckhand); Special Constable F.W. Sealey (Radio Operator); Constable W.J. Parry (Cook); Sergeant F. Anderton (In command police duties); Mr. P. Kelly (Technical Advisor)). (Vessel Crew 1944-1945 (Horrall, S.W. (1973)): Staff Sergeant H.A. Larsen (Master); Corporal G.W. Peters (Engineer); Special Constable R.T. Johnsen (Second Engineer); Corporal R.G. Hunt (Clerk & Deckhand); Special Constable F. Matthews (Deckhand); Special Constable J.S. McKenzie (Deckhand); Special Constable L.G. Russil (Radio Operator); Constable J.M. In 1991 this vessel was designated as a Vintage vessel by the Maritime Museum of British Columbia. This vessel is on permanent display at the Vancouver Maritime Museum in Vancouver BC.
