Anecdotes |

Mike Etier stated "This was my great great grandfathers boat. He kept his boat at our family property in Bamfield which he purchased around 1910 and his daughters name was Hilma (my great great aunt). His fathers name was Hans Hanssen with two 's' and it was somehow changed to one 's' later on so I think it could be very possible he went by Ivan for easier pronunciation. Just making an assumption here but that facts on the boat seem to add up. He died in the 1950s of a heart attack or stroke while on his fishing boat. " this vessel used to berth at Bamfield BC while it was active. On October 17, 1976 this vessel was destroyed by fire and foundered and sank off Tofino BC. |
