Anecdotes |
---|
On September 23, 1923 this tug under command of Captain Robert T. Derever was lost when this vessel was capsized by her tow in the Gulf of Georgia BC near Porlier Pass with the loss of five lives. The two empty scows were suddenly swung around by the current and the towline got underneath the tug causing her to capsize. The only survivor, W. Ingram (the Mate), secured the scows to trees on shore and got a ride to Nanaimo on a fisherman's launch. Lost were: Gus Young (Chief Engineer); A. Johnson (Second Engineer); Mr. McDougall (Cook); and E. Manders (Deckhand). |
