In 1970 this vessel was used for kelp harvesting. Robert Critchley (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 26/04/2017) states that "this vessel was owned by Jack Elsey, who had Milbanke Industries, a cannery at Shearwater, packed herring etc., that was in the early 1970s." In 2017 this vessel was anchored in Ladysmith Harbour. Ken Lund (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 25/04/2017) states that "Later this vessel was used out of Tofino packing fish farm feed and live hauling fish as well. This vessel was in Sointula abandoned by some shake block cutters when the current (2017) owner Dwyane got it. Twin 12 cylinder GM diesel-powered hasn't moved in at least 10 years." |
