She was a US yacht as Seaborn. In 1939 she was acquired by Northumberland Ferries Ltd. In 1939 she was the RN HQ of the Rear-Admiral Commanding the Third Battle Squadron at Halifax NS as Seaborn. She was acquired as a Canadian Naval Depot Ship for destroyers and auxiliaries at Halifax NS Canada. In 1946 she was paid off. In 1953 she was still in serice under the Panamanian flag.

H.M.S. Seaborn was the R.N. HQ of the Rear-Admiral Commanding the Third Battle Squadron at Halifax NS. This vessel was acquired as a Canadian Naval Depot Ship as H.M.S. Sambro, a Depot Ship for destroyers and auxiliaries at Halifax NS. In 1942 this vessel became H.M.S. Venture II. This vessel was renamed as H.M.C.S. Gannet. This vessel was renamed as Venture II.
