Anecdotes
In 1927 this vessel was damaged by an explosion. Lynda Lee Dosenberger (Email to Nauticapedia 07/03/2022) stated "Our vessel, the Alpine Fir was a 40 Ft double-ender ex-Forestry Vessel, powered by a 6-cylinder Perkin’s diesel engine. My husband and I purchased the vessel in May 1991, and I started the lengthy process of updating the registry for the Alpine Fir with the Vancouver Shipyards and completed it in 1994. The previous owner to us, Joe Hogan, had the vessel transported from the lower mainland to the Kaslo Shipyard, Kaslo, BC, north end of Kootenay Lake, in approximately 1987. The Alpine Fir had a heater fire on it in January 1991, causing surface and electrical damage, we purchased it as a salvage sale and I did the demolition and my husband, a TJ carpenter rebuilt the damaged areas. Once repaired and ready for inspection, I registered the vessel in our names in 1994. We owned the Alpine Fir for over 17 years from May 1991 to 2008 approximately. The vessel was later sold to a Brian Meyers, who never re-registered the vessel with Ships Registry in his name."
