Anecdotes |
---|
On April 14, 1926 this vesselhit the Second Narrows Bridge in Burrard Inlet and sank. This vessel was raised two days later. On May 2, 1941 this workboat, while under command of Captain Fred J. Carlson, was caught in the wash of a freighter's propeller and was pushed up against the bow of a second one which was loading lumber. Overhanging lumber caught the Chummie II's cabin and caused her to capsize and fill with water. William Oakley was drowned and four others were rescued by lonshoremen nearby. The incident occurred at Pier B in Vancouver Harbour. |
