Anecdotes
This vessel was an examination Vessel at Vancouver, For Small Craft entering Vancouver Harbour & False Creek "Disregarding warning shouts to stand away from the ship, [Greenhill Park] the trim 50-foot Royal Canadian Navy harbour rescue ship Andamara daringly steamed up to the stricken vessel and helped take off survivors. Describing the incident later, the Andamara's youthful skipper, Able Seaman Neil Macmillan said, "We were right under the ships's stern when the third blast went off. We loaded as many as we could aboard our ship and we rendered first aid on the way to the dock. Then we went back to the scene and stood by."" Quote from the Victoria Daily Colonist regarding the 1945 explosion of the Greenhill Park.
