Anecdotes
Amos Avitan (Email to Nauticapedia 18/09/2023) stated "This vessel underwent major reno in 2003 that included, new bottom, Upper deck, Swim grid, Kitchen, Cabins, aft deck. Her name was derived from our (Rachel and I) experience of living on board for a year. It was one of the best times of our lives. We were docked in Ladner Reach marina among floating homes and every Friday we unhooked and sailed off. We lived like Gypsies albeit on the ocean. Hence the name. This vessel was a great reliable vessel and not once when we got into bad weather or high seas did this vesselfail me. It was heart breaking selling her but it was time. When I sold her, her new owner managed to sink her within a couple of weeks. I know a salvage company pulled her up. The renovation of Gypsy was done by Alec Spiller sons and their company Commodore’s Boats. Which was actually named by my wife when creating their new logo."
