Anecdotes
In 1942-1946 this vessel served as a crash boat for the RCAF at Jericho Beach (Vancouver) BC. On December 11, 1985 this vesselexperienced a fire in the engine room and sank three miles off Wickaninnish Bay BC. Jamie Bray (Owner, Jamie's Whaling Station, Tofino and Ucluelet) (on 19/05/2017) states that "I bought this boat from Ken Thurston in 1971, sold it to Ron Ott in 1974. This vessel was repossessed and I bought her again from the Royal Bank in 1975, put her up in my yard and rebuilt her. Launched again in 1981, I used her for whale watching in Tofino until this vessel was destroyed by fire up in 1985. In 1949, this vessel was powered by a Nordberg gas engine. After her rebuild in 1979 to 1981, this vessel had a 3208 Cat for power. I transferred ownership to my father in 1981 or so to avoid a marital break up battle!``
