Paul Mendham (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 28/04/2020) stated "I was the 2nd owner of the boat in the photo. First owner was the builder. Original name was Night Shift. It was a great boat. We cruised and raced it for many years. Over built and production cost was too high to make a larger production run." Ron Vandergaag (British Columbia Nautical History Facebook Group 27/04/2020) stated :In the early 70s designer Raymond Wall, then Chief designer with Camper Nicholson in England, emigrated to Canada. Thus was born CS yachts, initially with the very ‘CNish’ design the CS 27. Soon after the CS 33 and CS 36T came along. Handsome, robust boats with a great reputation, many of which found their way from their Ontario manufacturer to the west coast and beyond.
In the early 80s, Ray Wall ‘retired’ to Victoria. This brought about the Quanta 28, a beautifully tooled mid size racer/cruiser with a strong resemblance to the earlier CS models." |
