Her sponsor was Mrs. Ralph Campney, wife of the Associate Minister of National Defence. In 2001 this vessel was sunk as an artificial reef off the coast of Mexico. Gary Wharton (Email to Nauticapedia 17/12/2022) reported that "On June 1, 1989, HMCS Kootney collided with the MV Nordpol, 28 nm off Cape Flattery." |
