This vessel carried 230 tons of fuel and could reach 16 knots. Her endurance was 3450 nm at 12 knots. This vessel was armed with one 4 in BL Mk.IX, two twin .5 in machine guns and two twin .303 machine guns, two (later four) depth charge throwers and two rails (later four) carrying 40 depth charges (later 70). This vessel carried a complement of 7 officers and 85-90 other ranks. This vessel participated in Operations Torch and Neptune. This vessel was torpedoed and sunk by U-480 in the English Channel on August 21, 1944 with the loss of 59 lives. |
