Anecdotes |
---|
On October 8, 1947 this seiner owned by J.H. Todd & Sons Ltd., Victoria BC capsized outside Growler Cove with the loss of two crew members. This vessel apparently drifted and became a derelict, with her engines still running. This vessel was laying on her port side with only a small portion of her stern showing. This vessel was in danger of drifting onto Hanson Island where this vesselwould have broken up in the surf. Later in the day the Emma K. encountered her and with great difficulty put a line on her and towed her into Parson Bay. During the tow this vesselrighted herself although this vessel was full of water. Cedar logs were lashed to her sides and by the morning of October 10th this vessel had been pumped out. This vessel was then towed 150 miles into Vancouver BC. The Emma K. claimed the value of the vessel plus damages to their own. |
